The IAC (Tenerife, Spain) invites applications for FIVE Advanced Fellowship contracts and SIX Postdoctoral contracts to work on topics with the following research lines:

| ▸ more | These contracts are financed by the "SEVERO OCHOA PROGRAM" (SEV-2015-0548), supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. It follows the selection of the IAC as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence by the Spanish Government in 2015, a prestigious recognition awarded for the second time to the IAC as a leading research institute in Spain.
Research topics at the IAC include most areas of astrophysics: solar physics, planetary systems, stellar and interstellar physics, galactic formation and evolution, and cosmology and astroparticles. These research lines are supported by an ambitious instrumentation program. Advanced Fellows (one position in each of the top research fields listed above) will be offered the possibility to direct or co-direct PhD students hired by IAC.
Qualification Requirements: To be eligible for admission, applicants must have completed a Ph.D. degree in Astrophysics or Physics, within the application deadline of each call. A copy of your degree or corresponding stamped certificate (issued on behalf of the University where you have obtained the degree), must be included. If the applicant has not completed the Ph.D. degree within the application deadline, will not be considered.
Specific requirements for the posts:
? For the Advanced Fellow candidates must have, at least 4, years of postdoctoral work experience.
? For the postdoctoral contracts candidates do not need to have years of professional work experience.
Remuneration: The gross annual salary for the Advanced Fellow contracts is 32,886 Euros, plus the residential allowance and for the postdoctoral contracts is 32,886 Euros, both subject to up to 20% tax and Social Security deductions (depending on the personal situation of the candidates). Medical insurance under the Spanish National Health Service will be provided for the candidates and will also cover spouse or registered partner (de facto partner) and children (if relevant).
Duration: The duration of the Advanced Fellow contracts will be for a period of 5 years and the postdoctoral contracts will be for a period of 3 years each. The starting date is expected to be on the second half of 2016.
Research travel funds: The Advanced Fellow contracts includes 4000 Euros per year for research travels (conferences, workshops, observing runs, collaboration stays, etc.)
Relocation allowance: This call includes a relocation allowance only for the selected candidate comprising: the cost of your flight ticket (booked and issued by the IAC), your stay for up to two weeks (organised by the IAC) and per diem rate up to two weeks. The maximum IAC will reimburse is 2,000 Euros.
All application materials must be submitted using the online application system and received by the application deadline of each call. The CV, publication list, statements of research and suitability for the Job and copy of your Ph.D. degree, must be converted into a single PDF file.
Late applications or those which do not include the mandatory application form (Annex I), will not be considered for admission. Incomplete applications will have a period of five (5) days, starting from the day after publication of the provisional list of accepted and excluded candidates, to provide missing documentation. Reference letters must be sent directly by the referees through the on-line application system (the system will automatically contact these scientists you named, asking them to submit their letters of reference). Those submitted by e-mail will not be considered nor those sent directly by the applicant. Since at least two reference letters are compulsory, we strongly recommend you to include three referees? names, just in case one of them is not be available to send the letter, and in that case you would be excluded from the process.
