| The Physics Department of the University of Aveiro, Portugal, invites applications for a Research position in "Dynamics of Planetary Systems" under the FCT EECI program. Applicants can be researchers of all nationalities, and should have a relevant academic or scientific CV in Maths, Physics or Astronomy, in particular they must have concluded a PhD before the 19th January 2018. | | ▸ more | Description:
The successful applicant is expected to do research in one of the following topics: extra-solar planet searches and study, planet formation and evolution, dynamics of multi-planetary systems, minor body dynamics. The main goal is to cover both theory and observations with particular attention to the dynamics of multi-body configurations and diversity of their dynamical environments. Computational experience is required and a background in Solar System dynamics is a plus. Applications by researchers working on other research topics related to the field of exoplanets will also be accepted and evaluated.
Qualifications: The candidate must have have concluded a PhD before 19th January 2018.

Salary:
Level 1 - 30,000 EUR/year
For applicants who obtained a PhD after 1st January 2013.
Level 2 - 45,000 EUR/year
For applicants who obtained a PhD before 31st December 2012.
Level 3 - 50,000 EUR/year
For applicants who obtained a PhD before 31st December 2012, and demonstrate to have conducted independent research in the last 3 years.
Benefits include social security and 25 vacation days.

3. Copy of all academic degrees, including the PhD certificate.

5. The application should include a motivation letter mentioning: expectations of applicant, short summary of current research interests, and relevance of research profile of candidate for the hosting institution.
The pre-selected candidate(s) will get the support from the University of Aveiro to apply to the FCT fellowships program (deadline February 12th).
