3. Brief news from EWASS 2014 and 2015

EWASS 2014 held in Geneva early July was a great success. Many thanks to the
organizers, the participants, the sponsors and exhibitors! The final list of the
more than 500 participants from all over the world is online. Pictures and
provided slides will soon be made available.

EWASS 2015 received a large number of proposals to organize symposia (28)
and special sessions (15). The SOC hopes to communicate the selection of
successful proposals to applicants in the next few weeks. It is very gratifying
to see so many excellent proposals from all areas of astronomy, and the SOC is
confident that the scientific programme will attract many astronomers to the
EWASS - held on 22-26 June 2015 in La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain.
