Postdoctoral position: stars and stellar populations in globular clusters | Closing date: 2022-06-10 Contact: Ariane Lançon |
Applications are invited for a post-doc to contribute to studies of the formation and stellar populations of globular clusters. The work will take place within a collaboration between Lyon, Strasbourg (PI), Montpellier, Geneva, Sao Paulo, Santiago (ANR project "Popsycle"). Candidates with expertise in stellar population modelling, the acquisition and analysis of stellar population-related data, and/or the formation and evolution of globular clusters (all aspects) are welcome to apply. | ▸ more | The Popsycle project is a collaboration between experts stellar evolution (Geneva, Montpellier), stellar population studies (all partners) and stellar dynamics (Strasbourg), aiming at studying the properties, the formation and the evolution of globular clusters and of their multiple populations, in the wider context of galaxy evolution. The selected postdoc, depending on his/her background and interests, will contribute to the computation of isochrones from new stellar evolution models, the modelling of stellar populations, the gathering and exploitation of related data (stellar spectra, globular cluster properties; proposals for new instruments; data analysis), or other astrophysical studies related to globular clusters and their stars. A fraction of her/his time will remain available for their personal projects.
