| Postdoctoral position in computational high energy astrophysics | Closing date: 2022-08-31

| We are looking for candidates with a PhD and experience in high energy astrophysics. The scientific topics of the project include the study of the physics of relativistic jets in gamma-ray bursts and their interaction with the surrounding medium. We are also involved in modelling the outflows associated with the kilonova phenomenon. | | ▸ more | We open a new post-doc position at CTP PAS within the research project "Origin of Gamma Ray Bursts and their multimessenger appearance" funded by the National Science Centre under Decision No. DEC-2019/35/B/ST9/04000 (Opus). The project leader is prof. dr hab. Agnieszka Janiuk.
The initial period of employment as a postdoc is 1 year with the possibility of extension for another year, subject to satisfactory performance.
Required documents:
1. Scientific curriculum vitae including publications, participation in research projects, conference presentations (with the clause "I consent to the processing of my personal data").
2. motivation letter, including a brief description of one's achievements to date and planned further scientific research
3) a copy of the PhD diploma or information from the Supervisor about the planned date of defending the dissertation (on the day of signing the contract the candidate should have a PhD diploma)
4. in addition, the candidate should arrange to send two letters of recommendation from independent academics, with an opinion on the candidate and his/her scientific activity to date.

The competition will be resolved by 30 September 2022. Candidates will be informed of the results of the competition via email. Candidates may be asked to submit an online seminar. In the event that no suitable candidate is identified, we reserve the right not to adjudicate the competition. The date of employment at CTP PAS is planned for October 2022, but may be negotiated.
