* The fee applies for Master, PhD students, postdocs, researcher, faculty. The only difference is on EAS membership.
** There is no 1-day fee. The 5-day fee gives you access to all recorded sessions during and in a limited time after the conference.
*** Membership in EAS at the moment of registration. Kuoni will validate your EAS membership based on the membership listing on the EAS website. EAS Invidividual members and EAS members for which an EAS Affiliated Society has transmitted the member's data to the EAS Office before registration are considered as EAS members.

Registration fees include:

  • Access to the virtual platform and to all sessions during the conference week (one day only for one-day registration)
  • Access to all the interactive tools, chat and mobile App
  • Access to the recorded sessions, for one month after the conference
Registration fees do not include:
  • Electronic materials needed to attend the conference online
  • Personal insurance

All sessions will be held in English. There is no simultaneous translation provided.

The registration fee has been set to allow the EAS to organise its meetings at a sustainable level while being affordable for most participants, especially considering that there will be no travel and accommodation costs. The EAS provides a generous number of fee waivers for those colleagues who need support. Moreover, students can apply for a position in the volunteer program, which waives fees in exchange for help in the meeting organisation.

Registration fee waivers

The European Astronomical Society (EAS) provides a limited number of registration fee waivers sponsored by our organisational member Springer and by the Society itself. This year, the waivers will be open to all participants, EAS member or not, and from all over the planet. The fee waivers are aimed at colleagues who, for whatever reason, will have difficulty to pay their fee. This can include non-funded or unemployed students or colleagues, or retirees, but also other astronomers, from all countries.

Application for registration fee waivers will be soon available on the EAS 2021 website. The deadline for applying will be the same for abstract submission (2 March 2021).

Payment terms

Full prepayment is needed prior to the conference. An invoice will be sent upon request only (eas2021 @ kuoni-congress.com) after the conference at no charge.

Cancellation policy

All cancellations and changes are to be addressed to the Congress Secretariat in written form at any stage prior to or during the event. E-mail: eas2021 @ kuoni-congress.com

Fees will be refunded after the conference, according to the following policy for cancellations received:

  • before June 1st, 2021: 100% refund less bank charges (15 €).
  • from June 2nd, 2021: No refund can be made.

Substitutions can be made at any time before the conference starts, by contacting the Congress Secretariat in written form. The organisers shall not be liable for refunds should visas not be obtained.

Data protection

We inform you that your personal data will be added to the Kuoni Congress' database for information related to EAS annual meetings. By filling in the registration form, you authorize Kuoni Congress and the European Astronomical Society to use your personal data for the mentioned purposes (see form). EAS (as organiser) has commissioned Kuoni Congress with registration, abstract handling, hotel booking and exhibition related tasks. Kuoni Congress is a serious congress services provider respecting your privacy and protecting the personal information that we handle. All personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable data protection laws, in the light of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). To exercise your right to access to, rectification and cancellation of this information, contact the Congress Secretariat (eas2021 @ kuoni-congress.com).

Liability

Kuoni shall act as a mediator only and cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred or any damage inflicted on persons or objects irrespective of whatsoever cause. Only written agreements shall be valid. The place of jurisdiction shall be Geneva.
