Special Session SS1  7 July 2016

The Square Kilometre Array Observatory: Current Status and Science Program

Aims and scope

Phase 1 of the Square Kilometre Array is now in the detailed design phase with construction scheduled to begin in early 2018. In this session, the broad-ranging programme of the Observatory will be highlighted in a series of review talks that present the scientific vision of each of the thirteen SKA Science Working Groups and Focus Groups. The talks should also highlight the science that is currently being done with major SKA precursor and path-finder facilities around the world.
