Lunch Session LS4  30 Jun 2026

The ESA Space Science Archives

Aims and scope

During this lunch session we will update the European space science community on the services, tools, and assets offered by the ESA Space Science Archives. Members of the ESA Science Data Centre will give presentations covering the current status of the archives, the new analysis and research tools and services that they offer, as well as the Archives' long-term strategy. We will provide demos on how to seamlessly explore and compare the content of the archives with ESASky and will show how easy it is to access Euclid DR1 data, once released, thanks to ESA Datalabs, which allows you to bring your code to the data and analyse the observations directly in the archives. We will also illustrate initiatives to support the community and in particular young scientists to fully exploit the data from ESA missions through the ESA Archival Research Visitor Programme.

Ample time will be allocated for an open-floor discussion, with questions and answers, soliciting inputs and feedback from the community.

Programme

The preliminary programme includes a number of short presentations and demos covering the following topics:

  • Astronomy Archives User Group
  • Archival Research Visitor Programme
  • Accessing Euclid DR1 data
  • ESASky
This is a short Lunch Session, so there is no time for contributed talks, but we welcome posters on the use of ESA archival data.
