The candidate will pursue research related to one or several of the following fields: The study of molecular line probes of activity in galaxies; dynamics of circumnuclear gas disks; fuelling and feedback of activity in nearby AGN; obscuration and unifying theories: structure and kinematics of molecular tori; excitation and chemistry of molecular gas in galaxies.
The candidate will be based at IAC and is expected to spend a few weeks per year at OAN-IGN (Madrid) in the framework of this collaboration.
Expertise in the following topics will be highly valued: Astrophysics; galaxy dynamics; mm radio astronomy; ALMA data reduction; mm/IR Interferometry; infrared observations; integral field spectroscopy
Position requirements: The candidates must have a solid track record of research and are expected to have a strong publication record in the fields of mm radio astronomy, formation and evolution of galaxies, and interferometry.
Qualification requirements: To be eligible for admission, applicants must have obtained a Ph.D. degree in Astrophysics or Physics, within the application deadline (March 31, 2017). A copy of the degree or corresponding stamped certificate (issued by the University where the degree was obtained), must be included.
