Applications are invited for a PhD student position at the Institute for Astronomy, Department of Physics of the ETH Zurich, in the group of Prof. Sebastiano Cantalupo. The successful applicant will work on theoretical/numerical modeling of cosmic structure formation on intergalactic and circumgalactic scales. This project will be integrated in our larger framework of analytical, numerical and observational projects that take advantage of the MUSE Guaranteed Time of Observations in order to study intergalactic gas in emission. | ▸ more | The Doctoral School of the ETH Institute for Astronomy offers a variety of basic and advanced courses and regular research seminars and colloquia covering a broad spectrum of Physics topics. The length of the PhD is typically 4 years. The position is available immediately and the starting date is negotiable. The starting salary is attractive (about 52'000 CHF or USD per year) and there is substantial support for travel to meetings and equipment.
