ASTRORUN

Embark on an exhilarating and inclusive journey with the Astro Run: a memorable race of 8K, guiding you through some of Padova's most iconic landmarks.

Whether you're a seasoned runner or prefer a more relaxed pace, this event is tailored for you. It is a chance to interact and forge new connections with fellow EAS 2024 participants. No worries about time constraints or competitive pressure at this event is all about relishing the experience.

Concert "The Planets"

A classical music concert will be offered to all the participants celebrating the exploration of the Solar System between music and images. The performance of Gustav Holst "The Planets op. 32" by the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto with Marco Angius Director, will be accompanied by a video on the Solar System exploration produced by INAF and VIS - Virtual Immersion in Science, projected on the Sala Giotto's largest LED screen in Europe. The concert is offered by Officina Stellare SpA.

Tour of the Specola

During the EAS 2024 Annual Meeting, INAF-Astronomical Observatory of Padua offers the opportunity to visit La Specola Museum, located in the Specola Tower (the oldest core of the Observatory itself) with a series of special openings.

The schedule specifically suited for the participants are as follows:

Monday 1 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00
Tuesday 2 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00
Wednesday 3 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00
Thursday 4 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00
Friday 5 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00

Due to the historical nature of the rooms, each visit is limited to 50 people, divided into two groups that follow different routes. The visit lasts for 1 hour and it will be in the English language.

The access is free of charge, but it is necessary to book in advance using the below dedicated form. To book a visit: fill this form.

In planning your visit while at the Annual Meeting, please keep in mind that reaching Specola from Padova Congress takes not less than 35 minutes walking. The time with public transportation Tram SIR1 or Bus nr. 12 is similar. With a bike, e-bike or scooter it is around 15 minutes.
