The European Research Council (ERC) funds ground-breaking, high-risk/high-gain research based on the sole criterium of excellence. This session will present the funding opportunities of the ERC, along with experiences of successful applicants and reviewers in different funding categories. The focus will be on astronomy/astrophysics funding in the ERC review panel "Universe Sciences". Special emphasis will be on equality measures in the evaluation process to particularly attract young researchers, women in astronomy, and scientists from Eastern Europe to apply for ERC funding. Feel encouraged to bring all your questions about future ERC applications!
