ASTRORUN

Embark on an exhilarating and inclusive journey with the Astro Run – a memorable race (but not competitive) around the city of Padova. The course will be between 5 and 10 km, on green areas inside public parks and along the rivers around Padova. Whether you're a seasoned runner or prefer a more relaxed pace, this event is tailored for you. It is a chance to interact and forge new connections with fellow EAS 2024 participants. Brace yourself for a distinctive "social tour" that unveils Padova's rich history and iconic landmarks. No worries about time constraints or competitive pressure – this event is all about relishing the experience!

Tour of the Specola

During the EAS 2024 Annual Meeting, INAF-Astronomical Observatory of Padua offers the opportunity to visit La Specola Museum, located in the Specola Tower (the oldest core of the Observatory itself) with a series of special openings.

The schedule specifically suited for the participants are as follows:

Monday 1 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00
Tuesday 2 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00
Wednesday 3 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00
Thursday 4 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00
Friday 5 July 2024: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00

Due to the historical nature of the rooms, each visit is limited to 50 people, divided into two groups that follow different routes. The visit lasts for 1 hour and it will be in the English language.

The access is free of charge, but it is necessary to book in advance using a dedicated form (available from April). In planning your visit while at the Annual Meeting, please keep in mind that reaching Specola from Padova Congress takes not less than 35 minutes walking. The time with public transportation Tram SIR1 or Bus nr. 12 is similar. With a bike, e-bike or scooter it is around 15 minutes.
