| The Department of Astronomy at the University of Geneva invites applications for a postdoctoral research position focused on accreting supermassive black holes. | | ▸ more | The successful applicant will work on observational studies of Active Galactic Nuclei in the group led by Prof. Claudio Ricci. The team is currently composed of three postdoctoral researchers and two PhD students, and studies nearby AGN from radio to X-rays. The postdoctoral position will focus on the study of AGN transients, super Eddington accretion, and changing-state AGN, using LSST transient discoveries and follow-up observations with 4MOST.
The position is for two years, with the possibility of extension depending on the availability of funding. Applicants are expected to have experience in AGN research; familiarity with X-ray data reduction and analysis will be considered an asset. A portion of the time will be allocated to independent research.
