The project is embedded in a national research unit focused on X-ray emission of Galactic stellar endpoints in the framework of the German eROSITA consortium. The project is embedded in a national research unit focused on X-ray emission of Galactic stellar endpoints in the framework of the German eROSITA consortium. The successful applicant will be hosted in a research group at the University Tuebingen led by Prof. B. Stelzer with focus on multi-wavelength observations of the formation and evolution of low-mass stars and brown dwarfs. Interaction with scientists located at other institutes involved in the eROSITA_DE Stellar Endpoints research unit is expected.
The position will be funded for a duration of 3 years (36 months). Salary will be according to 75% E13 of the TV-L of the German public services.
The applicant must have a MSc or equivalent degree in physics or astrophysics. Expertise with X-ray data analysis and/or optical spectroscopy and programming (e.g. Python) is desirable. The application is expected to consist of a CV (including personal data, formation, skills and expertises), copies of university degrees and a brief (1-2 page) statement of previous research experiences and motivation. The candidate should arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent directly to Prof. B. Stelzer.
