The preferred starting date is Summer-Fall 2022. Interested candidates should upload a 2-page CV, transcripts, and a one-page letter of motivation and arrange for any other relevant material to be uploaded online as well and preferably before March 30, 2022. The search may possibly continue beyond that date.
The PhD candidate will join a rapidly growing group with opportunities to work on timely topics related to the astrophysical formation of gravitational wave sources, and how gravitational wave detectors, such as LIGO/Virgo, LISA, DECIGO, CE/ET, can be used to probe their origin.
The Niels Bohr International Academy is currently undergoing a vigorous expansion into the field of Gravitational Physics, bringing together a number of scientists from several areas of theoretical physics and astrophysics and addressing some of the most burning questions related to gravity. More information can be found through the website Gravitational Physics at Niels Bohr International Academy.
The University of Copenhagen wishes to reflect the diversity of society and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of personal background. The primary criterion for the evaluation of candidates is scientific excellence.
